Frequently asked questions
Does the Felix + Stone Wheelchair & Walker Caddy fit my wheelchair?
The Felix + Stone Wheelchair & Walker Caddy is designed to fit most standard manual and attendant-propelled wheelchairs. It attaches with two included matching vegan leather clips that wrap around the push handles, so it works with any handle it can be clipped around rather than a fixed bracket size. The caddy measures 36cm long x 17cm high with a 13cm gusset.
Does it fit a walker or rollator (seat walker)?
Yes. The same included clips attach the caddy to walker and rollator handlebars, so it can be moved between a wheelchair and a walking frame. Because it hangs from clips rather than a rigid frame mount, it suits both four-wheel rollators and standard walking frames.
Will it fit a transport chair or attendant-propelled wheelchair?
Yes. On attendant-propelled wheelchairs the caddy can be hung at the side rather than across the back handles, which keeps it within the user's reach and away from the person pushing.
Can I use the caddy off the chair as a normal bag?
Yes. With the shoulder strap attached, the Wheelchair & Walker Caddy converts into a shoulder bag, so you can take it into a cafe, appointment or car without unpacking it.
How do you attach the Wheelchair & Walker Caddy?
Wrap the two included vegan leather clips around the wheelchair push handles or walker handlebars and fasten them, then hang the caddy from the clips. No tools, screws or brackets are required, and it takes under a minute.
Does the caddy tip the wheelchair backwards?
The caddy is a lightweight fabric-and-vegan leather bag, not a rigid frame accessory. As with any bag hung on push handles, weight sits behind the rear wheels, so heavy items are best kept in the lower compartments or the bag worn as a shoulder bag when carrying a lot. Attendant-propelled users can hang it at the side to keep the load closer to the chair's centre.
Can the caddy be reached by the person sitting in the wheelchair?
When hung from the push handles the caddy sits behind the user, which suits carers and attendant-propelled chairs. Self-propelling users who want access can attach the caddy at the side within reach.
Does it get in the way when folding the wheelchair?
The caddy unclips in seconds, so it can be lifted off before folding a wheelchair or walker for the car, then re-clipped on arrival.
What can you fit in the Wheelchair & Walker Caddy?
The caddy holds everyday outing essentials: a phone, keys, wallet, water bottle, medications, glasses, snacks and a small jumper. It has a large central zippered compartment, three interior pockets, a zippered front security pocket, a large back pocket with press stud and key clip, and two elasticised drink bottle pockets.
Does it have a cup or drink bottle holder?
Yes. The Wheelchair & Walker Caddy has two elasticised open drink pockets on the outside, one on each end, sized for a water bottle or takeaway cup and reachable without opening the bag.
How big is the Wheelchair & Walker Caddy?
The caddy measures 36cm long x 17cm high with a 13cm gusset (depth).
Is there a secure pocket for a phone or keys?
Yes. There is a zippered front security pocket for a phone or keys, plus a back pocket with a press stud closure and a built-in key clip.
What is the Wheelchair & Walker Caddy made of?
It is made from premium pebbled vegan leather (PU leatherette), with gunmetal hardware and zippers and a water-resistant lining.
Is the caddy waterproof?
The caddy has a water-resistant lining and a wipe-clean vegan leather exterior, which handles light rain and spills. It is water-resistant rather than fully waterproof, so it should not be left out in heavy or sustained rain.
How do you clean it?
Spot clean the exterior and lining with water or a mild detergent and allow it to air dry. Do not machine wash.
Is it vegan / cruelty-free?
Yes. The Wheelchair & Walker Caddy is made from PU vegan leather that is animal-free.
Can I claim the Wheelchair & Walker Caddy through NDIS?
If your NDIS plan includes a consumables budget, wheelchair accessories such as the caddy may be claimable. Felix + Stone can supply an itemised invoice to support a claim - contact us after ordering. Confirm eligibility with your Plan Manager or the NDIA before purchasing.
What colours does the caddy come in?
The Felix + Stone wheelchair + walker bag caddy is available in black and tan.
What is the difference between a wheelchair caddy and a wheelchair bag?
A wheelchair bag usually hangs on the back of the chair as basic storage. A caddy like the Felix + Stone Wheelchair & Walker Caddy is purpose built and designed for access as well as storage - external drink pockets, a zippered security pocket and organised interior compartments - and converts into a shoulder bag so it works on and off the chair.
